I love this weather...spring by far is the best season followed by fall! the best thing i think the Dept. of Transportation does is put bluebonnets on the sides of highways, so the whole place looks blue and green and you can see parents taking photos of their kids with the flowers. it is an absolute delight!

my life has been very hectic a work, and that is unfortunately having a very bad affect on my food and my gym. the former i am seeing too much of and the later hardly! so i am back to square one, those 2-3 happy weeks of regular gym ming are a thing of the past...i need more motivation to go there and not just sit and watch some damn movie or TV. aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh....

so India didn't make it to the world cup! thank god for that...if it had sneaked in to the super 8s because of other's misfortune i would have been more angry and the Indian team more cocky, it is time for them to really get their act together! And as the BCCI is very "wisely" saying Ghee (saturated Fat) should be banned, yes that indeed is the solution to our cricket woes! There is so much going on in India right now that it's just amazing how one country can concentrate on so many "big" news and events at the same time. There is the Big Bollywood wedding of Ash and Abhishek, which if you ask me is not getting enough media attention, and enough speculation. What these people in the public eye should realize is that we make them what they are today, the adulation, the attention and the insanity it all is because we want to know what is going on with them, so donot please shun the media and not give us the scoop we are looking for.

But truth be told, I really donot care about the wedding, except i want to see what Ash wore at the wedding and the other guests, that is all i care about, so i am hoping atleast some pics are put somewhere!

Then there is the Richard Gere Kissing Shilpa, Oh My God, i am besides myself with rage, how in the world could Richard Gere, come to 'some' show and take advantage of 'one of our dear indian girl' like that! Who cares what the cause is, what the reason for all this and who all contributed to this event and what this event will help in, i don't care about it, i want to go and burn some posters of Richard Gere, make spoofs of his films and when he finally gets back here, stone his house!

***Clarification**** I am being sarcastic above please do not think i endorse the "Shiv Sena" view point! As some people have pointed out that they have not been able to see the sarcasm!

Phew, then there is Sanjaya Malakar phenomenon happening!!!! It truly is just that! One started of as being a joke on the hugely popular American Idol show, how now become quite the rage that the show needed, now they will not admit this, they are making a huge deal out of it, that if he wins, so and so will quit and this will be the worst season ever, but what they dont realise is that in most seasons by this time, people loose interest in the show, but this year the ratings are high and people like me are watching it solely to see what the "wonder kid" will dish out this time, a wacky hair do or a bad rendition of an old favorite! One thing which i love and admire about him is his strength and ability to stand up there and take all the criticism that is being hurled his way, every week Simon will say something mean to him, i don't know how they think that helps, for he is not there of his own accord, they chose him to be there and now the public is voting for him, what is he supposed to do? He is doing his best to come out there and entertain people. I don't think anyone should be mean to him, but what i do know is that the public is mean very mean and for his sake, i don't want him to win the contest, cause the public will not leave him alone, like it is his fault! But the incident at the game that he went to is i think a good indication of what can happen. I have heard and read a lot of people saying because of his Indian background I should be proud of him. I just think this is misplaced patriotism. But that's just me, and i will not support him for this reason, in fact i don't support him at all, i just admire his courage.

If you're wondering why celebrities are so secretive, maybe you've answered your own question... You said it yourself: people are mean. Who knows what sorts of treatment celebrities receive at the hands of their "fans". I do know this: it's common for celebrities to be stalked, harrassed, etc.

  2. i don't think so JDogg, because with film stars we want to know who they are currently seeing, what they are doing and such, so not give their fans a little bit of that glitterati is nto fair, but in Sanjaya's case, he is being held responsible for something he is not. You are trying to say that if he was secretive and wasn't there so much in the public eye, he would escape all this?

I am not saying that it is fair to harass celebrities, but it is not fair on their part to not the fans know about what is going on with their lives and give them little pieces of their lives because we all know, that most of us need this gossip to larger than life figures to sustain ourselves...hehehe...we do thrive on gossip..don't we?

Humph. I don't thrive on such gossip. I'm usually the last to hear of celebrity goings on. In fact, I find that I'm quite happy without it. This is why your interest in the lives of celebrities is interesting to me: it's affords me a peak at a different perspective.

Although... There is one kind of celebrity I tend to be more interested in, and that is the creative celebrity. Creative celebrities are authors, screenwriters, etc. For example, I love reading Scott Adams' blog (http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/). He's the author of the Dilbert comic strip.

In cases such as these, I'm usually intrigued by what the celebrities have to say rather than who they're seeing. In Scott Adams' case, every now and then he writes a really funny yet thought provoking philosophical piece.

Anyway, I've more to say about your demands of celebrities, but I'll save those thoughts for a post of my own. Warning: I have some strong opinions! Brace yourself.

PS. Yes, I've decided to give up a piece of my anonymity by posting under my blogger account. But it's only a little piece. :-)

  4. I thought of another aspect of celebrities' lives I am interested in, and that's their professional careers. For example, it's fun to look up an actor in IMDB and see the list of movies they were in and try to guess why they accepted those roles.

So even then, I'm not interested in their personal lives nor do I have expectations of them to do anything for me. Do you know why? It's because I am so very virtuous. If you could see me right now, you'd see that I'm smiling in a very virtuous, angelic, and innocent way. Ahhhh, it's great being me!

hey u forgot about the anna nicole drama, and then the countless reality design, makeover and date elimination shows. i swear to god i wudn't watch TV if it weren't for news, sports and some nice comedy shows.

as far as the big superstar wedding goes...we just got bored by reading stuff...imagine the plight of ppl back home...i heard they are showing continuous footage of AB's terrace just in case SRK took a back-door entrance.

page 3 is the new page 1 and the original page 1 is Paris Hilton's toilet paper.

NOTE to the enlightened: in my books "IMUS" is out and "MAHER" is in!!!! - some sanity ppl...some sanity

  6. If we don't support the little desi exposure who will? I was thinking about our e-mail yesterday and I think that it is fair to support Sanjaya based on the only fact that he is desi...

Did we not support Indian team in WC2007 knowing very well we sucked after we lost to Bangladesh in the first match? Did we not have a glimmer of hope during the Srilanka match? That is exactly it...

Even in American Idol, people vote for their favorites based on the state/city/school the contestant has been to...So this is really not a talent show...but more of a fan-club show...whoever has more fan following wins the jig...

So Sanjaya who totally did not suck and had a very nice attitude till the end and even after that in Jay Leno was not a bad person to support and at the end of it...whether he is or not...I am a desi...and will support Indians...

    Phew...really long comment...

    M,

Every human effort is a sub-conscious effort at fishing for acceptance, appreciation and compliment, just like yours is fishing for comments.

This is how we connect with others as no man is an island.

So, how is Sanjaya M different from you -- or me?

And, why worry abt his celebrity status and whether he'd be able to handle it or not? Let future decide that.

Is it yr inferiority complex of being a desi or yr jealousy that a desi can reach such height?

i don't think i was taking about celebrity status for sanjaya, i was talking about the criticism that was coming his way, for no wrong doing on his part! but that all is gone now..he's a happy popular kid...

"Is it yr inferiority complex of being a desi or yr jealousy that a desi can reach such height?"
i don't have any inferiority complex about being an Indian, i am very proud about everything i am, the culture the history and the values! very proud...and i think u are insecure about something, being anonymous and all!

i am very proud of all indians who are doing well everywhere, but sanjaya is not a desi..i dont think he's ever been to india! dont jump to conclusions here...and his being an indian or not has nothing to do with "my" support! i think i am more fair than that!
